The IJmuiden Sea Lock was officially opened on Wednesday 26 January. Together with lock keeper Hugo Jut, His Majesty King Willem Alexander opened the door of the largest sea lock in the world. Bontrup’s ship Bontrup Amsterdam had the honor of being the first to sail from the new front door into the Amsterdam harbor, accompanied by a guard of honor of vessels from, among others, the corps van Vletterlieden, the Loodswezen, Port Towage Amsterdam, Rijkswaterstaat, the police, the customs and our own patrol vessels.
