The MV Viking Mira (2026) is the 13th of 16 identical ships built between 2015 and 2028 (fleet) for Viking Ocean Cruises. The ship’s design was specifically developed for Viking’s revolutionary all-inclusive vacation concept, “small ship travel,” which combines the experience of “river cruising with excursions” with an “affordable luxury” ocean vacation. The deck plan of the Viking Mira cruise ship shows a total of 499 cabins for 998 passengers, served by 470 crew members, 10 decks (6 of which have staterooms), 2 swimming pools (1 infinity pool, 1 covered with a retractable roof), 2 jacuzzis/outdoor whirlpools, and 6 elevators (2 of which are panoramic/glass-walled). This ship is exclusively for adults (minimum age 16) with no special facilities or programs for children. Each cabin deck features a laundry room with complimentary laundry facilities for passengers. These self-service laundries are equipped with ironing boards, washing machines, and dryers. Laundry detergent is also provided free of charge. Like her sister ships, the Viking Mira offers an intimate, boutique-hotel atmosphere with her signature Scandinavian-themed décor, luxurious fabrics, spacious lounges with stylish leather furniture, a gourmet kitchen, and a unique art collection. Like all Viking OCEAN ships, the Mira offers longer itineraries (with few sea days), numerous daily scheduled onboard activities, overnight stays in various ports, and a selection of premium tours (offered complimentary in every port of call). Unlike most new cruise ships, Viking OCEAN does not have a casino (gaming lounge and bar). The Viking OCEAN ships are new-generation cruise ships equipped with some of the best maritime technologies in the industry. These include energy-saving hybrid engines (diesel generators and gas turbines), optimized hulls, and a bulbous bow for maximum fuel efficiency. All Viking OCEAN vessels are designed with the same solar panels as the company’s longships/riverboats (installed on the pool cover at Magradome), further minimizing the boat’s exhaust emissions.
