Passenger Terminal Amsterdam celebrates it’s  20th anniversary

August 2000, the new cruise terminal on the Piet Heinkade was festively opened. Since then, PTA has become a household name in Amsterdam, where majestic cruise ships dock and high-profile events are organized. In addition to hosting the tall ships of SAIL Amsterdam every 5 years, the inauguration of King Willem Alexander and Queen Maxima was an unmatchable highlight, in which PTA and the Muziekgebouw played a prominent role.

PTA, a top professional location for events and cruise ships for 20 years, had an anniversary year in mind, but due to the global pandemic, there is little to be celebrated, even for PTA. The cruise season soon ended and events were canceled.

Nevertheless, PTA looks back on 20 beautiful years, in which it has grown into a major location at the river IJ in Amsterdam. PTA does not give up, but always looks ahead. The “plug & play” concept Cruise in Control has been launched together with 6 partners from the event industry. Here every event can take place safely at 1.5 meters. And everything under the roof of PTA. Because let’s face it; nothing beats connecting and meeting “live”!
