The MS Spitsbergen is named after the Arctic crown of Norway, it is an arctic expedition ship. Since 1896, Hurtigruten has been providing travel to this destination, formerly known as the “Sports Route”. After a complete reconstruction, MS Spitsbergen has been included in the Hurtigruten fleet since 2016. The modern ship has comfortable and modern cabins and public areas. The fresh Scandinavian design reflects the color palette of the sea. The ship is environmentally friendly and improvements are continuously made to reduce emissions and fuel consumption. The size and maneuverability make this vessel well suited for exploring fjord coasts, both in Norway and the Arctic destinations in Greenland, Iceland and Canada.
